The Family History & Genealogy Society of Marin (FHGSM) provides a variety of resources to support family history research in Marin County and beyond.
These include research indexes, historical records, meeting handouts, publications and articles about Marin County families.
Many indexes are free to search, while some full records and archives are available to FHGSM members.
The San Rafael FamilySearch Center and FHGSM Library provides access to genealogy resources, research assistance and historical materials.
The center is open two days per week.

FHGSM previously offered volunteer research services and is currently seeking a volunteer coordinator to lead this program.

Portuguese Union of the State of California (U.P.E.C.) – Sausalito
This fraternal insurance society was founded in 1880 in San Leandro and represents one of the oldest fraternal benefit organizations in California.
